I love how you have likened them to the moon and the sun. This is a beautiful thought - and i’m so glad you like the work!
"Baba Yaga with her woodland cottage that runs about on chicken legs and her unusual mode of flight: she ferries through the air in a pestle and mortar, sweeping her tracks with a besom as she goes. Baba Yaga, Old Hag Yaga, like many other crones in fairy stories, fences her domain in the forest with the bones and skulls of her victims, whose eyes glow by moonlight. She sets snapping teeth on her door for a lock, with hands to bolt it, and human limbs to support it…"
“The combination of stupidity and self-esteem, though, makes for very good consumers. Every child is taught shopping and spending skills to a high level. It is all summed up in advertising slogans such as “Because you’re worth it”. The commercial world continues to promote the self-bigging-up agenda through products. If you’re feeling down, you go shopping, and because you have not been taught how to think, you don’t realise that you are being conned.”—Tom Hodgkinson.
don't you just love tumblr... i'm here too: thewanderingartist.tumblr.com i hope you are doing well.
ok, my question: if you had a choice to work with oil paints vs. acrylic paints, which one would you like more than the other? and why?
Hi there! I forgot about the ‘ask me’!
Ideally I would opt for oils, they have always exuded luxury and mystique to me - although acrylics are quite a bit more versatile, so that’s what I generally opt for. I don’t have the courage to commit myself to oil painting. That might change one day, though!
