There’s something strangely therapeutic about creating outfit collages which feature items that you may never purchase or wear, even if you should like to. I finally located my winter coat, too: it isn’t navy blue, doesn’t have a hood, nor the slightly feminine silhouette that I had planned upon. I adore the Margaret Howell jacket pictured above (not my winter coat!), the chequered lining, the rounded collar. I’m not opposed to the concept of tights or socks with open toe sandals either, and can envisage these navy wedges from apc paired with thick woolly winter tights (Falke charcoal, I think!). My winter requirements are just about fulfilled now, I just need to locate a simple, warm scarf, a chunky, one-colour beret and a practical bag…..perhaps an apc denim tote…..for I certainly cannot afford anything more substantial since having purchased my new coat, so perhaps the January sales shall shine a benevolent light upon me.
